Viper Subsea are delighted to announce that we have signed up for the St Peter’s Hospice ‘100 Club’.  St Peter’s Hospice are currently looking for 100 companies to each raise £1,000 for its charity during 2012. 

St Peters hospice is the only adult hospice that provides care for patients with life limiting illnesses across South Gloucestershire, Bristol and North Somerset. They aim to improve the quality of life of patients while extending care and support to their families and loved ones. In 2011, they cared for over 2,200 patients and supported over 6,000 family members, including children. Much of this care was provided in patient's own homes.

 Viper Subsea and staff will be raising the money in different ways throughout the year.

Viper Subsea Limited has been renamed to Viper Subsea Technology Limited (Registration number 6213408), and a Limited Liability Partnership, Viper Subsea LLP (partnership number OC364672), has been established. The capital in the LLP is owned by Viper Subsea Technology Limited.  To this end Viper Subsea LLP is a subsidiary of Viper Subsea Technology Limited.  Viper Subsea Technology Limited will continue to carry out the R&D function of the business and Viper Subsea LLP will be the trading entity.  The reason for this change is to put in place a structure and mechanism that will facilitate the future expansion for our business.

Following his success in receiving the South West Director of the Year title, Neil has now been named as a finalist for the 2011 UK Director of the Year Award (small & medium company category).This category is for directors of companies with 250 or fewer employees.  The awards ceremony takes place on the 23^rd September at the Lancaster Hotel in London, where the Ceremony Host will be Michael Portillo.

Viper Subsea won the award for brand at the Media Innovation Awards.

Neil Douglas has been named as Institute of Directors (IoD) South West Director of the Year 2011. Neil was honoured at the fifth annual IoD South West Evening with Entrepreneurs at Bristol’s Marriott Royal Hotel, Thursday 9^thJune where he was presented with his award by Miles Templeman, Director General of the IoD.

Speaking about the award, Neil said; “This award is a big honour personally, but equally as important, it is an award for the business. The success of Viper Subsea comes down to the committed team we have and this award is a result of the efforts of everyone within the company. 

Neil will now go on to represent the South West at the IoD National Director of the Year Awards later in the year

Managing Director, Neil Douglas, has been selected as one of three finalists in the ‘Director of the Year’ category in this year’s South West Institute of Directors (IoD) Awards.  The South West Region of the IoD is one of the most active in the UK, with some 3000 members spread across six Branches covering Bath & Wiltshire, Bristol, Devon & Cornwall, Dorset, Gloucestershire and Somerset.

The winner will be announced at the IoD South West ‘Evening with Entrepreneurs’ dinner which is being held on Thursday 9 June at the Royal Marriott Hotel in Bristol. Judging criteria will cover all the basic elements of business success, including financial performance, managing growth, employee engagement, innovation, reputation management and ethical behaviour. The regional winner will then go forward to represent the South West at the IoD National Director of the Year Awards later in the year.

The ‘Director of the Year’ is one of three categories for which an award is being presented. (The other two being: ‘Young Director of the Year’ and ‘Public Sector Director of the Year’). The IoD awards have been created to recognise and celebrate the role of leaders and their contribution to the South West region.

Viper Subsea is celebrating today after winning The New Enterprise Award at the prestigious Subsea UK Business Awards 2011. The awards are organised by Subsea UK and celebrate the excellence, innovation and exceptional achievements across the entire UK subsea supply chain. The award caps a successful exhibition at the annual Subsea UK event in Aberdeen, at which Viper Subsea unveiled its new V-LOCK^®hydraulic stab plate.

“The exhibition has been incredible for us.” said Managing Director Neil Douglas. “Response to V-LOCK^®has been phenomenal and there has been a great deal of interest in the company and our product and service offer. Of course we were crossing our fingers for the award, especially considering the calibre of competition, but we were surprised and delighted when we won. This is a great achievement for the company, and it speaks volumes about the quality and dedication of the team at Viper Subsea.”

The New Enterprise Award, sponsored by Technip UK, concentrates on businesses which are less than five years old. Feedback from the awards ceremony suggests that Viper Subsea’s considerable investment in research and development, as well as its strong forward looking business plan, impressed the judges.
