Viper Subsea continues to expand

As the Viper Subsea business continues to grow, we are pleased to announce a number of new starts in the first half of 2010.


Mike McLaughlin joins the Aberdeen based team as a Senior Project Engineer. Mike brings extensive knowledge and experience in both Subsea Production Controls and Work Over Control and Intervention Systems


Stephen Scott-Smith joins the board as Financial Director. Stephen has an impressive CV of senior positions (Finance Director, Group Finance Director, Chairman, and non-executive roles) in a range of national and international companies. Stephen brings tremendous experience to Viper Subsea and will help direct and manage the expansion of the company.


Peter Alexander takes on the newly created role of ‘Product Development Manager’. Peter’s previous role was as Engineering Manager at the Aberdeen based company Brinker Technology. Peter takes on the responsibility of managing Viper Subsea’s IP and new product development. Peter’s proven management and technical capability makes him a strong addition to the Viper team.


Richard Sims, who is well known in the Subsea Controls, WOCS, and umbilicals industry, brings an additional 30 years of subsea expertise to the Viper team as a Principal Systems Engineer.


Emily Waller has taken on the role of Office Manager. Emily, having previously worked for Coca Cola, also brings extensive QHSE experience, being a trained auditor in ISO 9001, ISO 4001 and OHSAS 18001 standards.


Krystyna Molony has recently joined us as an apprentice, and will be working with Emily to learn about the office management and QHSE activities that are key to ensure smooth operation of the business.

 

South West Regional Development Agency Grant

Viper Subsea has been successful in securing a grant from the SW RDA to ensure that our VIPERconnect product is fully qualified for subsea use and can therefore be declared as ready for its first commercial application. The Grant for Research and Development investment will ensure that the product is successfully taken through the prototype build and rigorous testing programme necessary before it is ready for the market place.
